Apply NowIntroducing the Summit Leadership Institute (SLI), a seven-month program designed to train and equip a broad range of leaders at Summit and strengthen them for effective gospel-ministry in their unique callings.
Over the last couple of years we've felt the need to expand the core content of our Pastoral Leadership Institute (PLI) to reach a broader demographic of our Summit members. SLI does that.
Over two semesters, SLI will deepen your grasp of Scripture, broaden your understanding and application of the gospel, and help you understand why we do what we do at Summit.
Seven months, two semesters, one aim.
Understanding & Interpreting Scripture
Learn to read the Bible well - making sense of its form, tracing its storyline, and seeing how every part points to Jesus.
The Faith We Confess
Walk through the core theological convictions of the Christian faith. Understand why we believe what we believe.
The Gospel-Centered Life
Alongside the theological teaching each week, we'll explore what it means to be gospel-centered and how the gospel connects to our spiritual formation, care for others, and how we engage in God's mission.
Before you apply
SLI has been designed for those deeply committed to life at Summit. Connection to and involvement in the church are key to meaningful application of the content and a core purpose of the training. In order to apply, you must be:

~2 Tuesdays / month
*October will have 3 Tuesdays
2.5 hours class time
$75/semester, $150 total + students purchase their own books
Have questions about whether SLI is the right fit for you, or whether it will work in your season of life and schedule? Ask us - we'd rather talk it through than have you guess.
SLI isn't just about stimulating the intellect, but shaping hearts and equipping hands for gospel ministry.
What's next
SLI has limited space. We are aiming for 12-15 participants and will have a conversation with each applicant to discern whether the program is the right fit. We want each participant to genuinely have margin in their life for the program.
As part of applying, you'll reflect on a few questions:
- Why do you think this is worth doing?
- How do you see this training helping you move toward what you sense God has called you to?
- What questions about faith and calling do you hope this training might help you answer?
