Most people tend to think of church as merely a building with a steeple, or an event that you attend on Sunday mornings. The Bible presents a different picture of the Church. Churches are local communities of God's people, rescued and redeemed by Jesus, filled and empowered by the Holy Spirit, living together in authentic community, making their lives about living out Jesus' mission in the world.
Connecting at a church shouldn't involve scanning a list of events you are interested in attending, but pursuing life with others in a way that helps you love, serve and obey Jesus. Here are some ways that happens at Summit:
Sunday Gathering - Sunday mornings we gather to worship Jesus through singing, praying, submitting ourselves to the Bible as it is taught, and celebrating Jesus' work on the cross through the Lord's table.
Community Groups - The centerpiece of our life together outside of Sunday morning service, community groups aim to live out the gospel in smaller community together through loving one another, studying God's Word, and serving our communities.
Sunday School - Children are important to us. We want them to know and trust Jesus as the Rescuer and Righteous and Good King over our lives. Sunday School allows kids to learn about Jesus in a safe and loving environment.
Boys' and Girls' Clubs - Our twice monthly kids' clubs. Boys' and Girls' Clubs are fun, Christ-centered connection points for boys and girls in 3rd-6th grade.
Mission - The church exists for mission. We are passionately involved locally and globally in order that the name and fame of Jesus would be spread through the gospel.
